From the granddaddy of all baseball card issues comes this T206 White Border Christy Mathewson Portrait, one of many important key cards from the legendary set, found here in a PSA 1 holder, with the colorful front seemingly presenting better than the technical grade, which presumably results from some significant paper loss on the back from having been affixed to a scrapbook page. One of three Mathewson varieties in the fabled issue, the Portrait variation is the most difficult of the three, with this example boasting excellent centering all the way around, and a truly compelling presentation on the front from the orange background that neatly sets off the wonderful portrait of Mathewson.
