Presented is an almost mint condition example of the Fred Tenney card in the coveted 1910 E98 “Set of 30,” a card that looks seemingly as it might have looked when it rolled off the presses despite its fabled 110-year heritage. Tenney, one of the top first basemen of his time and a defensive whiz credited with a number of tactics and innovations at the position, may have had his name misspelled on this stunning SGC 8 Near-Mint to Mint blazer, but that hardly detracts from what is an exquisite pasteboard. The pristine E98s in this auction look for all the world like they could have been part of the historic “Black Swamp Find” of eight years ago, and this amazing Tenny specimen is among the highest-graded cards in this array.
