Here is an important Clark Griffith card from a truly elegant turn-of-century tobacco issue, the alarming condition-sensitive T205 Gold Borders with gold-leaf, full-bleed card fronts that so readily reveal even the slightest nicks to the gold accents. Adding to the uniqueness of the issue, the set boasts three different designs, customized for the American and National Leagues and a third, even more ornate and intricate, for the one dozen minor leaguers. This card of the legendary Hall of Famer Griffith is one of the coveted cards in the issue, found here in a PSA 4 holder, a condition markedly better than these coveted cards are typically encountered in mature collections. There is some of the anticipated chipping to the rounded corners on the front, with centering perhaps 65/35 left to right and with staining on the Sovereign back that is off center to the left.
