Presented is one of the true rarities from the famed tobacco era of last quarter of the 19th century and first two decades of the 20th, the massive, oversized 1913-16 Fatima Cigarettes Posters that featured many of the legendary figures of the era. Hall of Famer Max Carey, the legendary speedster of his era and a 10-time Stolen Base leader, is pictured on this 12 ½-by-19-inch black-and-white photography that is neatly complemented by a full-color image of a pack of the sponsor’s smokes that seemingly accents the elegance of the piece. The piece is compartmentalized to three sections, with Carey headlining, plus Dave Davenport of the St. Louis Americans and Jack Graney of the Brooklyn Robins. This example presents in Good condition but has back damage from having been affixed to another surface, along with some pinholes, moisture wrinkles and creases and small tears.
