Offered is one of the true rarities from the famed tobacco era of last quarter of the 19th century and first two decades of the 20th, the massive, oversized 1913-16 Fatima Cigarettes Posters that featured many of the legendary figures of the era. Hall of Famers Rabbit Maranville and Johnny Evers are pictured on this 12 ½-by-19-inch black-and-white photography, along with another NL stand out of the day, Fred Merkle, in a four-panel layout entitled “Giants and Braves Clash at the Polo Grounds” that is neatly complemented by a full-color image of a pack of the sponsor’s smokes that seemingly accents the elegance of the piece. This example presents in Very Good condition but has back damage from having been affixed to another surface, along with some pinholes, tiny creases and small tears.
