In 1928 baseball fever was sweeping through the nation’s youth like wildfire and a group of ice cream producers, including Dushore, Pennsylvania’s Harrington Dairy Products, produced a 60-card set featuring the greats of the day. Within the set, Babe Ruth’s card remains extremely scarce, because it could be redeemed for a free ice cream bar or multiple Ruth cards could be redeemed for quarts of ice cream. For the heavy dairy consumer, the entire Harrington set was worth a gallon of Harrington’s famous ice cream. This beauty is slabbed in a PSA 3 holder, with only 33 of them ever graded by PSA and a mere 10 graded higher.
