This is the twelfth and final issue in a series of elegant sterling-silver season pass pendants, the third of three pendants featuring the whimsical and playful designs of acclaimed illustrator Charles Dana Gibson. In what could be described as the sequel to the 1930 pendant, the three figures have gone from anxious to morose, as the title engraved at the top, “Fanned Out” reveals the outcome of the earlier two-out, bases full, three balls and two strikes situation. Like its prequel, this is an equally charming 1 ¼-by-1 ¾-inch depiction of three comical fans, with “Giants 1931” in all caps appears at the bottom directly above “Chas A. Stoneham Pres.” The back is in matching Near-Mint condition as the front, and is engraved with the pass owner’s name, “Will Wedge” along with the serial number “738” and “Lambert Bros. N.Y. Sterling” at the bottom. The piece is yet another important artifact that is as rare as it is coveted, enhanced like the two preceding years by the wonderful Gibson artwork.
