Three elements at a minimum conspire to make this a special opportunity for serious collectors: the convergence of arguably the game’s most revered figure appearing in the principal card issue of the era and then winding up as the No. 1 card in the set. Any one of those factors might account for a major price tag and enthusiastic bidding, but finding all three together at once ups the ante. Ultimately, it is a nicely centered example of the great DiMaggio in a PSA 3 holder with a MK designation for indentions to the right of most of DiMaggio's body, making it a great artifact for collectors of the issue, the player or New York Yankees specialists.
