Here is a spectacular example of the famous Hillerich & Bradsby World Series Commemorative Black Bats, with this Ex-Mt-Plus condition 35-incher boasting glistening gold H & B nameplate and the barrel stamping “St. Louis Cardinals, National League Champion 1943,” along with 26 player names – also in gold stamping – done in either facsimile autographs from the iconic Louisville Slugger archives or block all-capital letters. The names include legendary figures from the wartime Cardinals clubs that racked up four National League Pennants and three World Series crowns in a five-year span from 1942-46: Musial, Brecheen, Southworth, Demaree, Walker, Lanier, Kurowski and Dickson, among others. The esteemed Black Bat Series remains one of the coveted collectibles connected with the Fall Classic and is a must-have for generations of collectors.
