Offered is a compelling example of one of the most important rookie cards extant, Mickey Mantle’s attractive 1951 Bowman Rookie, the horizontal masterpiece that is, of course, the key to the fabled 1951 Bowman issue and a hallmark item for any serious Mickey Mantle collector. This extremely striking example has four mildly rounded corners, vibrant colors, and 65/35 centering top to bottom. Clean front and back, with no distracting print lines as are so commonly found with this card. The back is also particularly clean, with no wax wrapper or gum stains, which are often a problem with 1951 Bowmans. There is a light paper wrinkle near the top of the back, right through the top of Mantle's name, which should not be confused with a crease. This is a magnificent VG example of one of collecting's most famous cards.
