Offered is a highly attractive near set of the 1954 Bowman Baseball issue, a nice condition array that broadly ranges from VG-Ex to Near-Mint, headlined by a boffo group of PSA-slabbed HOFers that offer a nice glimpse into the wider condition range. That group includes the likes of Willie Mays, Roy Campanella, Bob Feller, Yogi Berra, Duke Snider, Pee Wee Reese and Whitey Ford, among others. The 180 raw cards in the near set are noticeably better than these cards are typically found in mature collections, jostled only perhaps by some centering concerns that affect a significant number overall. The unique “pastel” design issue was the company’s penultimate effort before being swallowed up by archrival Topps two years later. This array, missing a total of 29 cards that are enumerated below, comes out to roughly 44 percent Ex-Mt to Near-Mint, 34 percent VG-Ex to Excellent and 25 percent Very Good, with only about 7 percent below.
