In a classic non-sport issue from the gauzy days of the 1950s, this set was based on the popular Walt Disney movie and ABC television series that featured Guy Williams as the epic fictional hero in what would become Los Angeles when the territory was still under Mexican rule prior to 1846. Just as the feature film was drawn from the television series, the Topps 88-card set designed for young fans of the classic hero evolved from the feature film that was created as a compilation from television episodes. This is a nice example of the popular non-sport effort, a set that is broadly Good to Excellent, with some above and below. It provides a nice consistent and uniform presentation, coming out to 10 percent Excellent to Ex-Mt, 16 percent VG-Ex, 38 percent Very Good, 24 percent Good and only about a dozen cards below.
