This is a highly attractive and collectible example of one of the great vintage Topps issues, an Ex-Mt to Near-Mint 1960 Baseball near set, with some below to Excellent and missing only three high-number commons. Five of the keys have been slabbed and graded by SGC and provide a nice glimpse into the wider condition range: No. 148 Yastrzemski Rookie – SGC 6.5, No. 200 Mays – SGC 7, No. 250 Musial – SGC 6.5, No. 326 Clemente – SGC 6 and No. 350 Mantle – SGC 6.5. As is not uncommon with this issue, cards from the second series actually improve a bit from the rest of the array, closer to Near-Mint or better; overall, the near set boasts a nice, consistent and uniform presentation, with good color and gloss and clean backs. The three missing numbers are: No. 522, 536 and 552.
