The first Topps set for the decade of the 1960’s is found here in a highly collectible overall condition, essentially Excellent to Ex-Mt, with some below and quite a few Near-Mint cards. It was the company’s first horizontal design in the standard size 2 ½-by-3 ½-inch size; Topps had produced sets in 1955 and 1956 in the larger size that prevailed in the first half of the decade. There are four third-party slabbed and graded cards included in the offering: No. 148 Yastrzemski Rookie – PSA 3, No. 316 McCovey Rookie – PSA 5, No. 326 Clemente – PSA 4.5 and No. 565 Maris All-Star – BGS 4. It’s a very appealing presentation of a key set from the closing of first decade of the Topps tenure. Here’s the breakdown: No. 1 Wynn – Good, 10 Banks – Good-Plus, 28 Brooks Robinson – Very Good-Plus, 35 Ford – Ex-Mt-Plus, 50 Kaline – Ex-Mt, 73 Gibson – Excellent-Plus, 136 Kaat Rookie – VG, 150 Musial – VG, 160 Rival All-Stars – VG, 200 Mays – Good-Plus, 210 Killebrew – Ex, 295 Hodges – Good, 300 Aaron – Good, 350 Mantle – Fair, 377 Maris – VG-Ex m/c, 445 Spahn – VG-Plus, 475 Drysdale – VG, 480 Berra – VG, 490 Frank Robinson – VG, 493 Snider – Ex o/c, 558 Mathews All-Star – Fair, 560 Banks All-Star – VG-Plus, 561 Kaline All-Star – VG, 563 Mantle All-Star – Good, 564 Mays All-Star – Fair, 565 Maris All-Star – BGS 4, 566 Aaron All-Star – Ex m/c and 570 Drysdale All-Star – VG-Plus.
