Offered is an outstanding grouping of 1961 Square Base Bobbin Head Dolls featuring some of the legendary franchises from the pre-merger days, including the Packers, Vikings, Browns and Eagles as the elder league entered its dramatic growth stage after the merger with the American Football League in 1966. The 7-inch figures generally boast excellent painting, bold colors and nice gloss, providing a compelling, uniform presentation that would fit seamlessly with even the finest collections. Some of the figures come with the original box and the colorful 2 ½-by-5 ½-inch label. Here’s the lineup: 1) Green Bay Packers – Green Base with the NFL Logo Sticker, with some wear to the underside of the face and the tiniest nick to the helmet stripe; 2) Philadelphia Eagles – includes the box, presents nicely but technically Poor condition with cracks and a piece missing from the helmet. The figure is separated from the base but could be easily reglued by the winning bidder; 3) Cleveland Browns – with the box, presents in Ex-Mt-Plus condition, with small cracks to the underside of the chin and a couple of small nicks to the helmet; 4) St. Louis Cardinals – with the box, presents in Excellent fashion, with chip to the base of the chin and light toning to the helmet; 5) Minnesota Vikings – with box, presents seemingly as Near-Mint, nudged only by the tiniest nicks to the corners of the base; and 6) Minnesota Vikings – presents decently, but has several cracks to the base of the chin and helmet.
