Presented is a nice example of the first year of three Post Cereal Baseball issues, the quaint undertaking that demanded significant scissoring skills from the youth of America, yielding standard-size 2 ½-by-3 ½-inch cards. The offered near set boasts decent cutting, producing a nice collectible array of broadly Very Good to Ex-Mt condition cards, with a couple of cards above to Near-Mint and about a dozen or so below, mostly to Fair. Overall, it comes out to 42 percent Ex-Mt to Near-Mint, 33 percent Excellent, 16 percent Very Good and eight percent below. About three dozen of the cards, including some of the keys, are “Company” versions, revealing the perforations that marked the specimens that came from the 10-card mail-in program of team sets. The listing of the 17 missing cards appears at the end of this text.
