April 3, 2025: Spring Auction
Presented is an outstanding example of one of the truly coveted bobbin head dolls from the early 1960s, the Roger Maris figure that arrived the year after his historic 1961 season when he topped the 60-home-run record established by somebody named Ruth. The Ex-Mt Maris figure is 7 ½ inches, with the White Square Base, and is nothing short of sensational, almost without incident (save only for the barest paint loss to the underside of the chin), and boasting a superb paint job, with a nice patina and excellent gloss, a nod to near perfection that extends all the way to the delicate Maris facsimile autograph decal. The figure comes in the original box in Excellent condition, with the colorful Maris image label on the front. Hard to imagine finding a more enticing example of this key figurine.
