Presented is an intriguing array of 1963 Topps Baseball, a group that includes a host of key Hall of Famers – including Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Casey Stengel, Juan Marichal and many others – in mostly collector grades, along with a blazing subgroup of Near-Mint to Near-Mint to Mint monsters that includes almost 100 cards from the difficult later series. Of the 343 cards, about 1/3 fall into that august category, with the remaining 2/3 mostly Very Good to Ex-Mt. It comes out to roughly 36 percent Near-Mint or Near-Mint to Mint, 20 percent Excellent to Ex-Mt and 30 percent Very Good to VG-Ex. In the case of Hall of Famers or stars listed below, the regular-issue card is indicated unless otherwise noted. The breakdown: Near-Mint to Near-Mint to Mint (127) – including two League Leaders, two Checklists, Blanchard, Murtaugh, Covington, Zimmer (2) and Larker, plus 91 cards from the difficult later series above No. 447; Excellent to Ex-Mt (68) – including Kaline, Santo, Cepeda, Fox, Wilhelm (2), two League Leaders, two Checklists, Buc Belters, Power Plus, Veteran Masters, Friendly Foes and two Team cards; Very Good to VG-Ex (104) – including Mantle, Mays, Brooks Robinson, Stengel, Marichal, Banks, Williams, Uecker, Hubbs, five League Leaders, five Checklists and two World Series subset cards; Good (25) – including Banks (2), Killebrew, Kaline Ashburn and a World Series card; and Fair (19) – including Spahn, Houk, Cash, Kubek and Howard.
