Offered is a wonderful example of an important mid-1960’s Topps mainstream issue, the classic 1964 Topps Baseball set. Nearly two dozen of the keys slabbed and graded by PSA as Near-Mint and even Near-Mint to Mint provide a useful glimpse at the overall range, essentially Ex-Mt to Near-Mint, with the emphasis falling to the upper end of the scale. The set has a nice, uniform and consistent look and presentation, with decent centering, vivid colors and good gloss, along with super clean backs, most with bright orange background color. Perhaps only five dozen or so of the cards have had the cartoon section on the back exposed, further evidence of a cachet of largely pristine pasteboards. As noted above, the keys are even more impressive than the overall range, with 18 accorded a PSA 7 designation and two others adjudged as PSA 8. We’ve also listed a couple of dozen cards that fell below the overall range, almost all adjudged as Excellent and exceptions noted.
