This is an important artifact from a key figure in New York Yankees history, slick-fielding third sacker Clete Boyer, who anchored the hot corner in the closing years of the club’s 1960-64 dynasty. The pants show significant, almost excessive wear, with several team repairs and small section missing from the bottom of the right leg. The three-button pants have “Boyer 6 ’65 34 2.5 ins.” chain stitched on a team swatch tag at the waist; “Buys” is handwritten alongside in marker. As noted, the pants reveal considerable wear, including extensive team repairs, most notably to the vented crotch and backside; there is also some staining at the back of the waist. A small square has been carefully cut out of the right leg near the bottom of roughly 4-by-6 inches.
