Presented is a game-used Louisville Slugger bat wielded by former Detroit Tigers backup catcher Jimmie Price, who was a member of the remarkable 1968 World Series Championship squad that upset the favored St. Louis Cardinals and Bob Gibson in a seven-game thriller that October. The 34-inch bat has the famed Hillerich & Bradsby label and Genuine/Jim Price/Louisville Slugger on the barrel, with K55 stamped on the knob alongside “JP” written in marker. The bat shows considerable game usage, with numerous ball marks, pine tar residue and 10 inches of tape applied to the handle. Price batted .214 lifetime, with 18 home runs and 71 RBI.
