November 17, 2022: Fall Auction
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/17/2022
Presented is a large grouping of 1967 Topps Baseball, an array that constitutes about 72 percent of a complete set while providing perhaps an additional 100 or so duplicates, presumably from upgrading. Truly one of the most attractive and actively collected issues of the entire decade, the simple design, sharp photography and blazing colors in the 1967 issue combine to an effective presentation for this grouping of mostly different cards from primarily across the first five series. The general condition range is Good to Excellent, with some above and below the range, with about a dozen and a half Hall of Famers included, along with a host of stars, minor stars and Specials. The partial set comes out to approximately 440/609 of a complete set, with perhaps an additional 100 or so duplicates; many of the key Hall of Famers and prominent Rookies are missing from this partial set, but there are 17 present and listed below, and about a dozen cards included from the difficult high-number series. The breakdown of keys: No. 1 The Champs – Very Good, 20 Cepeda – Good, 30 Kaline – VG, 45 Maris – VG-Ex, 55 Drysdale – Good, 60 Aparicio – Good, 62 Checklist – VG, 70 Santo – VG, 93 Murcer Rookie – Good-Plus, 140 Stargell – VG, 166 Mathews – Fair, 191 Checklist – VG-Ex, 210 Gibson – Good, 215 Banks – Good, 278 Checklist – Ex, 285 Brock – Good, 320 Perry – Good, 333 Jenkins – Good, 337 Morgan – Good, 350 Torre – Good, 355 Yastrzemski – VG-Ex, 361 Checklist – Ex-Plus, 400 Clemente – Good, 422 Wilhelm – VG and 423 Fence Busters – VG.
