April 3, 2025: Spring Auction
Presented is what is certainly one of the more difficult of all of the hundreds of Bobbin Head Dolls produced in the 1960s, the 7-inch 1969 Seattle Pilots Gold Base piece. The figure is thought to have been produced in smaller numbers, as the Pilots were a classic one-year wonder, ditching the West Coast in favor of Milwaukee in 1970. For a version that is highly coveted in virtually any condition, it is found here in a very presentable state, jostled by tiny nicks to the underside of the head, to the “Seattle” decal on the Gold Base and to the “Pilots” decal on the chest. That said, the piece still exhibits nicely, with crisp, vivid colors and gloss and an attractive presentation. The original box is included in Good condition, nudged only by some tiny extraneous pencil notations. This is a rare opportunity to pick up what is surely one of the Holy Grails of the Bobbin Head genre.
