One of the truly legendary franchises in major league history is nicely commemorated here in a blazing array of 17 pristine 29-inch souvenir pennants that appear to be in the same condition as when they rolled off the presses 52 years ago. With the campy Pilots winged logo at the left and gold tassels just as unmolested as the blazing red pennants, the group is a wonderful artifact from the infamous one-year wonder, a club that has grown over the years to become a favorite with several generation of fans and collectors. The iconic Major League Baseball logo is screened in blue at the lower-left corner; the white-and-blue screened lettering for Seattle Pilots is absolutely stunning in its crispness. A superb collectible from a franchise afforded legendary status in a number of important books over the decades, perhaps most notably from Jim Bouton’s best-seller “Ball Four,” published in 1970.
