Presented is a nice, collector-grade complete set of the groundbreaking 1969 Topps Basketball issue, the company’s first hoops effort after more than a decade and a unique, oversized treasure that by virtue of its timing boasts an incredible number of Rookie cards, including some of the most important of the era. Two singles have been slabbed by PSA, including 25 Alcindor RC PSA 1 (presents VG, but with a small pinhole through the top) and 1 Chamberlain PSA 6, while three other keys - 20 Havlicek, 50 Robertson and 90 West - were all deemed N6 indicating they didn't meet the minimum size requirement. At 4 11/16-by-2 ½ inches, the famed “Tall Boys” provided a stunning presentation, with ornate white background and pink spot color backs that so elegantly showcased the players’ narratives and statistics. The offered set is mostly Very Good to Ex-Mt, yielding a handsome presentation of an important basketball issue. The set comes out at 14 percent Ex-Mt, 34 percent Excellent and 46 percent Very Good to VG-Ex, with only five percent below, mostly to Good.
