This imposing 22-inch high trophy was awarded to Mickey Lolich following the 1974 campaign, his penultimate season with his beloved Tigers and yet one more when he topped 300 innings pitched and 200 strikeouts. The trophy has a silver figure atop a 6-by-3-inch marble platform, an element that is repeated closer to the 11-by-6-inch wooden base that has two more of the silver baseball player figures. An 11-inch silver nameplate notes “King Tiger, 1974, Mickey Lolich.” The trophy reveals a bit of dust after almost a half century and little else to cause concern, save only for a small 1 ½-inch plastic figural element that is missing from the middle section. The affable Lolich was one of the top lefthanders in the American League for more than a decade, with a streak of 11 seasons with 14 or more wins, a 217-181 lifetime record, 2,832 strikeouts and 3.44 ERA in his 16-year career.
