Presented is a neat artifact from the brief tenure of the World Football League, a Chicago Wind home jersey worn by a man who would go on to considerable fame in the NFL and as a television commentator. This striking 1975 green mesh jersey has the double-ply shoulders, crossover V-neck and green sleeves with two 1-inch sleeve stripes in heavy white applique. The front and back sleeve numerals are done in the same fashion, with NOB screened on to knit plate in Sand Knit style elongated plain block font. Red Fox Size L label appears on the lower front. The shirt reveals light wear, consistent with a quarterback who saw limited duty as a backup behind Pete Beathard. After two seasons in the WFL (1974 with Charlotte), Danielson would go on to significant success in the NFL, serving as the starting QB for several seasons in Detroit and compiling career totals of 13,364 yards and 81 touchdowns in 13 seasons, most prominently in Detroit from 1976-84.
