Here’s an impressive jersey from the short-lived World Football League, a Chicago Wind home jersey attributed to Pete Beathard, who threw for 886 yards and three touchdowns for the club in 1975. The shirt is medium/heavyweight green mesh, with crossover V-neck with reinforcement; it has Red Fox labeling on the tail that is partially disengaged. The numerals are heat appliqued in white, the same scheme for the dual-white sleeve stripes and the NOB on cheesecloth nameplate on the back. Shirt shows typical quarterback wear. Beathard threw for 8,176 yards and 43 touchdowns in an 11-year NFL career with the Chiefs, Cardinals and Rams before trying his hand with the upstart WFL.
