Here’s a spectacular jersey directly linked to veteran center/forward Jim McDaniels in 1977-78 and by inference to legendary Hall of Famer Adrian Dantley from the previous year, his rookie season in which he averaged 20.3 ppg and 7.6 rpg. The white mesh jersey with V-neck collar has black and turquoise knit trim with cross-over underarm. It has Wilson Size 44 labeling with cloth flap tag with 3” X Long. The NOB is sewn on in solid black twill, with the numerals and team name in two-color turquoise on black. The shirt shows solid, two-season wear; Dantley wore No. 44 in his historic rookie season in 1976-77; glue and inner stitch remnants strongly suggest usage by the Hall of Famer in that season. He played one season with the Braves that year; McDaniels wore the shirt in his final NBA season after a career that included four different teams. Getty Image photography with Nos. 1288397166 (jersey back) and 1288397231 (jersey front) indicate exact style match.
