This iconic 1983 Chicago White Sox home knit pullover is in superb condition, with usage attributed to Bart Johnson, who was a scout and spring training instructor for the club from 1981-87. Dual Sand-Knit Size 46 labeling appears on the front left tail; a team tag with embroidered “83” and “46T” appears on the inner back tail. The “T” indicates tapered. The light cheesecloth pullover has midnight navy and red striping on the chest and sleeves and the same scheme for the V neck. The All-Star Game 50th Anniversary patch appears on the left sleeve; sewn-white tackle twill is employed for the “Sox” on the front and midnight navy tackle twill for the NOB and No. 71 on the back. The NOB is affixed directly to the shirt, covering the original nameplate during training camp and minor-league use after initial use by Johnson.
