Presented is a handsome game-worn jersey attributed to journeyman hurler Steve Mura who pitched briefly for the Sox in 1983. The pullover V-neck jersey in Sand-Knit cheesecloth material has red/midnight navy/red wide stripe motif on jersey front and sleeves, with V-neck in midnight navy/red finely ribbed knit. The MLB 50th Anniversary All-Star patch is original and straight-stitch affixed to the left sleeve. The sewn-on “SOX” on the front, back numeral and NOB, with NOB in classic Sand-Knit elongated plain block font. Sand-Knit Size 44 labeling appears on the left-front tail, with “83 44 4” on the back tail. The nameplate covered NOB for subsequent camp or minor-league use, hence the disparity in wear between the back Nos. and NOB, with the numbers having had reinforced stitching applied, with some fraying of the stitching apparent.
