This Michael Jordan XRC is graded 8.5 by BGS. Among more than 839 examples recorded in BGS's census reporting, just 70 examples have been placed at a higher tier. Many collectors appreciate and enjoy Jordan's 1986-87 Fleer collectible, but this very tough-to-find card was issued two years before Fleer entered the market. And the piece is much more scarce: it's been reported that only 3,000 copies of Jordan's Star Company Rookie Card were produced, but that seems overstated since well under 1,000 have been graded. Offered here is a stunning specimen that boasts sharp corners and a beautifully focused image of the Chicago Bulls legend. The card's BGS condition report: Centering: 8, Corners: 8.5, Edges: 9, Surface: 9. This has to be a centerpiece in any serious Jordan collection, equal to, or arguably more desirable and certainly more scarce than the 1986 Fleer card.
