Offered here is the Holy Grail of all modern items - an unopened case of 1986-87 Fleer Basketball. It’s quite possibly the only one left in our hobby, and includes 12 wax boxes with 36 packs each. Once in a great while, a single box is offered in auction, or a small find of a several boxes is discovered, but we were unable to find when and if a factory sealed case has ever been offered. Our research couldn't even find a box that was designated as “From A Sealed Case.” The 1986-87 Fleer set just happens to have the most important of all the Michael Jordan cards, which is obviously the key card in the set. Much like the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle, you can almost see the signs of greatness from the image alone. Jordan’s rookie is not the only key of note in this wonderful basketball set. Other star rookies, including many superstar rookies, like that of Danny Ainge, Charles Barkley, Clyde Drexler, Joe Dumars, Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone, Chris Mullin, Hakeem Olajuwon, Isiah Thomas, Dominique Wilkins and James Worthy can also be found here. In addition to the unusually strong rookie card crop is the usual assortment of modern stars like Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Every player of importance from the era is included. The set is loaded in stars. Many of these players are also repeated in the Stickers set, which is inserted one per pack and includes Abdul-Jabbar, Bird, Erving, Ewing, Magic Johnson, Jordan, Olajuwon, Thomas and Wilkins. The prospects of this one can’t be overstated. Single boxes sell for $100,000 and those aren’t “FASC”. Jordan’s RC singles are one of the most desirable cards in the hobby - and this case will yield around 40 of them. This one will require the winning bidder to arrange for pickup or transportation from our offices in Wisconsin.
