Babe Ruth Signed Check Written to A.G. Spalding Bros. (1937) (Graded BAS 9)

Babe Ruth personal check, dated November 22, 1937, made out to “A. G. Spalding Bros.” in the amount of $8.57. Signed “G. H. Ruth” in blue fountain pen along the base. The entire check, which is drawn on the Chemical Bank & Trust Company of New York, has been filled out entirely in Ruth’s hand and bears his name printed along the left margin. This is a choice example with the signature completely untouched by the normal bank cancellation marks and stamps. The check (8.25 x 3 inches) displays normal bank cancellation stamps and holes and is endorsed with an ink stamp by the recipient on the reverse. The check arrives slabbed and authenticated by BAS with the signature graded Mint “9.”
