Here’s a bittersweet artifact from an integral player from the earliest years of the modern Duke University basketball behemoth, a jersey attributed to 1982-83 Duke Captain Tom Emma. The royal blue knit road jersey has white/blue/white collar and arm yoke trim and white tackle twill identifiers. Rawlings Size 42 flap tag and 1-Inch Extra Length flap tag appear on the lower right-front tail. The shirt shows solid wear and is an important piece from a key player from the early years of Coach K’s legendary tenure. Emma averaged 6.9 ppg over his career at Duke; he died tragically in 2011 after a fall from the 11th floor in what was adjudged a suicide.
