High-Grade 1963 Bazooka Complete Set, Six are Graded (41)

Offered is one of the nicest complete sets from the unique 1963 Bazooka All-Time Greats set, arguably one of the most condition-sensitive efforts of that decade with the gold-foil accents that so prominently reveal even the slightest bit of wear. The six keys – Ruth PSA 6, Gehrig PSA 7, Cobb PSA 6, Johnson PSA 6, Mathewson PSA 6 and Young PSA 7 – have all been third-party graded and slabbed, coming in at levels that provide a nice glimpse into the wider condition range of the group, which is to say Near-Mint or better, with a couple of Ex-Mt examples of the diminutive 1 9/16-by-2 ½-inch treasures and a single card, Joe Tinker, at Very Good. As noted above, there is virtually none of the dreaded chipping of the delicate gold foil; nine cards (9) have imperfect centering, though not all of those would be severe enough to dictate a formal off-center designation. The list includes Alexander, Anson, Chance, Cochrane, Dickey, Hornsby, Ban Johnson, Mack and Speaker.
