Here is a full uniform that carries the unique cachet of being from the American Basketball Association’s final season as the league folded following the season, with several teams – but not the Colonels – being folded into the NBA. The Jimmie Baker jersey and shorts are in superb condition, showing light game use from a season when Baker appeared in a handful of games, but in all respects a marvelous artifact from the popular league that helped to transform the modern NBA into the behemoth it would become. The shirt has the blue with red and white ribbing and collar, with “Kentucky” in red and white tackle twill and Baker’s No. 32 in the same fashion. Baker’s name and No. 32 appear on the back in red and white tackle twill, revealing some puckering but minimal fraying of the delicate stitching. Size 44 Rawlings tagging appears on the front right tail, with 4 inches flag tag adjacent. The standout shorts display the Rawlings Size 34 tagging at the waist, with white embroidered “A” on an adjacent team tag. Draw strings are intact and show some wear on the blue shorts with red and white elastic trim.
