Offered here is a stunning single-signed baseball from Jimmie Foxx. As the first baseman of Connie Mack’s 1929-31 pennant machine, Foxx slugged an even 100 home runs, putting him in the same elite stratosphere as Babe Ruth. In fact, during the late 1920’s and 1930’s, only Jimmie Foxx could claim to be Ruth’s equal in home run production. He hit 58 home runs in 1932, and the next year he won the Triple Crown Award. When the three-time MVP winner retired in 1945, he had amassed 534 home runs, second only to the Babe, and left a career batting average of .325. Due to the rapid decline in Foxx’s health and death at the early age of 59, anything signed by “The Beast” is eagerly sought by collectors - but a single-signed ball is a whole other story. There are very few single-signed Foxx balls in the hobby and this one is in the upper echelon. It has a near-perfect blue ballpoint pen signature on the side panel of this OAL Cronin ball, with a full LOA from JSA.
