This 32.8 oz Louisville Slugger bat measures 35.75 inches long and was used by former Triple Crown winner Carl Yastrzemski during the 1978 and 1979 seasons. It's a model R206 flame treated weapon made of professional grade Ash and exhibits significant use in the form of heavy ball marks, deeply embedded stitch marks and cleat marks. The bat also exhibits grain swelling with an 8" crack on the handle and a custom tape job on the handle. Yaz ordered 12 36", 34 oz. bats on 3-7-78 through 1979 and this one exhibits heavy use on all sides, especially beneath the barrel stamp. If further proof is needed that this was clearly one of Yastrzemski's favorite weapons is needed, his number "8" is written on the knob in black marker, along with the word "Game". A beautiful example of a former Triple Crown winner, HOFer, three-time batting title winner, MVP winner and a whopping 18-time All-Star. Arrives with a full letter from MEARS and graded A8, along with a full letter from John Taube of PSA/DNA and graded GU7.
