This H&B bat was made for Mickey Lolich for the 1968 World Series. While hitters received two bats specifically made for the World Series, pitchers received only one so this is the only one that exists. Lolich would go on to win three games for Detroit and win the MVP as Detroit beat the Cardinals in seven games. Lolich hit the only home run of his career during the series, a 3rd inning solo shot off Nelson Briles in Game 2 enroute to a 8-1 victory. He went 1-4 with a run scored in Game 5 and 0-4 in Game 7. Lolich usually preferred to use other player’s bats when he went to the plate and this bat shows no game-use, but as the only bat made for Lolich during his historic performance, it’s a priceless heirloom and arrives with a LOA signed by Lolich himself.
