This striking 35-inch Adirondack bat was used by legendary lefthander Mickey Lolich during his finest season in 1971, though admittedly most of his heroics came 60 feet away and from the other perspective. The Adirondack bat has the distinctive blue stripe and Big Stick and Flame Treated on the barrel, along with printed Mickey Lolich in all caps. There are indications of polite game use on the bat; perhaps it may have been employed in registering one of the 15 base hits he logged that year, a career high that would not be challenged, since two years later the designated hitter rule would fall into place. The bat also has his No. 29 and L handwritten in marker at the knob.
