If you were penciling in prominent invitees to a Detroit Tigers Old-Timers celebration, Mickey Lolich would have to be near the top of the list, and not simply because Ty Cobb, Harry Heilmann, Sam Crawford, Charley Gehringer, et al, are no longer with us. With his unrivaled ranking as one of the top hurlers in club history – and those three victories that nailed down the 1968 World Series, adding the affable Lolich would be a no-brainer. That’s how the Tigers saw it as well as Lolich wore this sparkling Tigers home uniform in the old-timer’s game in 1991. Thirty years later it hardly looks any the worse for wear, showing good game use but otherwise in simply stunning condition. The Size 50 jersey has Wilson labeling on the front left tail and a team-embroidered “91” on a flag tag below. The elegant Tigers logo appears on the front along with the pristine piping on the collar and each side of the intact seven buttons. His fabled No. 29 and “Lolich” appear on the back in navy blue tackle twill, with the name affixed directly to the shirt. There is some minor fraying of the delicate stitching front and back, but nothing that materially detracts from the presentation. The accompanying pants have the appropriate Wilson labeling (Size 48) at the waistband and like the jersey, show game use but remains in spectacular overall condition.
