Presented is an impressive array of the iconic 1957 Topps Baseball issue, an accumulation of 350 cards that is largely in Excellent or better condition, with a bit of duplication but representing a spectacular launch on completing a full set. There are 122 cards missing from a complete set, with the offered lot representing 70 percent of completion; some of the missing numbers are important HOFers, but the lot includes almost two dozen with HOF credentials, plus the three key Rookie cards – Frank and Brooks Robinson and Don Drysdale – and a total of five cards slabbed and graded by PSA. Those five are No. 1 Ted Williams – PSA 5, No. 18 Don Drysdale – PSA 4, No. 35 Frank Robinson Rookie – PSA 6, No. 328 Brooks Robinson Rookie – PSA 5.5 and No. 407 Yankees Power Hitters – PSA 2. In addition, there are 15 of the 16 Team cards, plus five of the difficult Contest Cards and the Lucky Penny Insert card. As noted, the array is in a handsome overall condition, coming in at 13 percent Near-Mint, 32 percent Ex-Mt and 18 percent Excellent, nearly 2/3 of the entire grouping. Another 26 percent is VG-Ex or Very Good, with only 9 percent below Very Good. A listing of the missing numbers appears at the end of this entry.
