This is an intriguing and imposing group of 1960 Topps Baseball, with more than 300 different numbers represented in pursuit of a complete set in an array of almost twice that number. The array of 561 cards is broadly Excellent to Ex-Mt, with some below the range and a significant number of Near-Mint cards and the emphasis probably to Excellent. The array includes a roster that features almost 20 Hall of famers, including some of the key cards in the issue. The No. 350 Mickey Mantle – PSA 2 and No. 148 Yastrzemski Rookie – PSA 4 headline that subgroup, with other monsters like Clemente (Near-Mint) and Koufax (Ex-Mt) and fellow HOFers Gibson (Ex-Mt), Banks (Ex-Mt), Musial (Ex-Mt), Wynn (Near-Mint), Ford (Ex-Mt), Aparicio, Stengel and many others. As noted, there is a good deal of duplication in the lot, typically with a second or third card, often including many top stars and specials. The lineup includes 18 Team cards, 16 Combination cards and four World Series subset cards, along with many managers, all coming within the range of Nos. 1 through 500. About five or six dozen cards have the kind of centering that might typically prompt thoughts of an upgrade, though not all of those would be severe enough to necessarily dictate a formal off-center designation.
