This is an incredible collection of high-grade Boston Red Sox team sets dating all the way back to 1961, an accumulation almost as notable for its comprehensive nature as the remarkable consistent grades, making early 1960s vintage Topps pasteboards nestle in comfortably alongside the blazing Near-Mint to Mint or better counterparts from post-1980. Indeed, the Team sets from 1961-80 are mostly Near-Mint or occasionally better, perhaps with the odd Ex-Mt here and there but essentially in grades that make for a uniform and consistent presentation spanning three decades. An amazing nearly three dozen pristine cards from 1968 Topps commemorate the beloved architects of “The Impossible Dream” of 1967. Ultimately, the massive group provides a fascinating examination of more than a generation of Beantown favorites, from Yastrzemski, Petrocelli, Lonborg, Smith and Conigliaro to Fisk, Tiant, Rice, Lynn and all the way to Boggs et al. in the 1980s.
