Presented here is a striking, consistent Nr-Mt and even better near-complete set from 1975 Topps, with handsome PSA-slabbed examples of the two key Rookies and an overall wonderful, consistent look. In an offering that boasts the coveted “vending bend” denoting uncirculated cardboard treasures, the No. 228 Brett Rookie is in a PSA 5 holder and its counterpart, No. 223 Yount, a PSA 6. The sole missing number is the No. 500 Nolan Ryan. This is possibly the company’s finest offering of that curious decade and easily one of the most colorful and vibrant issues ever produced by the good folks in Brooklyn (and Duryea, Pa.). This example boasts blazing bright colors, excellent centering and sharp photography and gloss, and almost none of the dreaded chipping that so consistently plagues this issue. As noted, the condition range is Near-Mint to Near-Mint to Mint, with the emphasis to the lower end of the range and the Hall of Famers generally falling within the broader condition range, with a handful of outliers noted: No. 20 Munson – Excellent, 100 Stargell – Ex-Mt, 530 Perry – Ex-Mt and 600 Carew – Ex-Mt. This is quite simply a superb opportunity to pick up an important vintage Topps set in a remarkably pristine and consistent condition.
