Here is an attractive game-worn road jersey from the Indians’ longtime center fielder and even longer broadcaster, Rick Manning, from his third season in Cleveland in 1978. The grey knit pullover has “CLEVELAND” in red and blue tackle twill on the front and red, white and blue elastic trim on the collar and sleeves. “Manning” appears in blue tackle twill on the back affixed directly to the shirt, with his No. 28 in blue and red tackle twill on the back, with minimal fraying of the delicate stitching. The popular Indians Mascot embroidered patch appears on the left sleeve, with some noticeable fraying of the edges. The Rawlings Size 42 tag appears on the inside right with two flag tags: 1-inch Extra Length and Set 1 – 1978. The jersey shows significant game use and is in outstanding condition.
