One of the few players to have played every field position in a major league baseball game, the versatile Cesar Tovar played for the Minnesota Twins from 1965 to 1972, wearing this gorgeous gray flannel button-front jersey during that first inaugural season of his standout 12-year major league career. The jersey has "Twins" across the front in script and Tovar's No. 12 on the back in navy-on-red tackle twill, with some puckering of his number on back and very light fraying of some of the delicate stitching. There is a Spalding red and blue Size 42 label sewn on the front left tail with Tovar's name, number, size and the year (65) stitched in navy thread directly below the Spalding tag, which reveals some fraying. A Dry Cleaning tag and Set 1 - 1965 tag appear on the inside front tail. His name is also stitched on a felt swatch sewn into the collar. The jersey also has a Twins patch on the left sleeve. All original and in beautiful condition, including the seven buttons and venting at underarms, this jersey is a standout.
