Presented is a sparkling example of the 1982 San Francisco Giants alternate black jersey, worn by Tom O’Malley in his rookie campaign of a 12-year major league career. The jersey has “Giants” in the distinctive team script across the front in orange and white tackle twill, the same format used for his name across the back (on a black nameplate) and his No. 35 front and back. Some dirt and puckering is present on all of those elements, along with puckering, most notably on the larger No. 35 on the back. A delicate Tom O’Malley autograph in black ballpoint appears on the bottom of the No. 5 on the back. The shirt has the orange and white elastic trim on the collar and sleeves and the distinctive Giants 25th Anniversary embroidered patch on the left sleeve, with only minor fraying of some of the stitching. The Wilson label Size 42 is affixed to the back of the collar and a team label has orange embroidered “32 81” on the front left tail. All elements appear to be original and unaltered.
