Here’s a spectacular gamer from one of the key performers in the Yankees’ amazing dynasty from 1996 to 2001 that featured five American League Pennants and four World Series titles in a six-year span, a blazing home Yankee pinstriper from smack dab in the middle of that stretch in 1997. The two-time All-Star ended with 339 home runs in a sterling career largely divided between Seattle and the Yankees and the jersey is a handsome artifact from a beloved NY performer. The shirt shows game use and is in superlative condition, with Russell Athletic Size 48 labeling on the lower-left front tail, with a large team tag below with “Martinez 97” and two flag tags noting 100 % Polyester and 2 inches extra body length. The iconic NY logo is in outstanding condition on the left breast and the famed Jackie Robinson 50th Anniversary embroidered patch is on the right sleeve. Martinez’s No. 44 appears on the back in the large navy-blue tackle twill, with minimal fraying of the delicate stitching. The jersey, a museum-worthy classic, is in largely as-issued and problem-free condition.
